We spent a good day in Alnwick at the castle and gardens and then followed Nicola and Tony & Co across the country via Vindolanda www.vindolanda.com/ to the Lake District. We spent the night in a B&B near Kendal which we eventually found after several phone calls and missed turns. We then made our way to Harrogate to see Simon's godmother, Sarah, who fixed a massive feast for us and gave us a tour of the town the following morning. We came back south to Blenheim Palace www.blenheimpalace.com/ and spent the night with Charlie and Rachel in the Cotswolds. We went for a post-breakfast walk along the Thames before leaving for Cornwall.
