First Major Hiccough

We always knew it was likely to happen, but it still wasn't much fun. We arrived on the ferry from Helsinki into Tallin, only to be stopped at the border and the car impounded as we did not have the correct documentation! The border guards were as helpful as possible, one phoning a friend to get the number of the UK embassy, but for the first time on all my travels we've had to go to an embassy to get a problem sorted. Fortunately, we were able to go into the absolutely stunning city of Tallin (if you are interested, visit now before even more people start coming here!) and the embassy was extremely helpful, so this morning we were presented with a stamped copy of the details which enabled us to get into the country. So all we've lost so far is a bit of money but not much time. Si has been working on a more permanent solution to the problem as we speak . . .

Off to visit a museum and then go to an island off the mainland called Saaremaa to experience a bit of the quieter part of Estonia. More later! E

There is a time and a place for pictures. No-man's land and Embassies are generally not great places for whipping out a camera. In retrospect we should have taken a sneaky pic, but at the time it wasn't the first thing on our minds!
