The trip out of Montenegro was stunning as we wound our way around the bay. Unfortunately, I missed much of it, laid out on my seat with carsickness. The road straightened out a bit once we got to Croatia and we had beautiful views of the Old Town from the road above it. We stayed in a guesthouse with a lovely woman who collected us from the bus station and after an hour on the beach we went in to explore the city. Dubrovnik is a beautifully kept city, with huge walls you can walk along. There is a war photos museum there which had a shocking exhibit on Liberia, as well as photos from other war zones. The photos from the Balkans conflicts were especially interesting as we could recognise some places from our travels. After a discounted wander along the city walls we had prawns and salad for dinner on the harbour front with a whole pirate play that was being performed as part of a coporate event for Toyota unfolding in front of us, cannons shooting and swordfighting and everything. We had wanted to go to a few of the other islands, including Hvar, but the ferry timetables were not conducive, so we went straight back to collect the car from Split. Happy to have regained our independence, we drove straight through Croatia and into Slovenia . . . E

On the road again, I found you (the car) on the road again. With apologies to Willie Nelson.
So the road to England should be paved with familiar languages and your own time table.
Eager to hear from you when you arrive in England.
